Effects of Lubricants of the Properties of Pressed and Sintered Products,

Abstract

The report discusses lubricants used in powder metallurgical processes. The investigated lubricants decrease the value of the force of ejection of the compacts and affect advantageously the extension of lifetime of dies; the most advantageous influence on the ejection force is exerted by the addition of stearic acid and of the mixture of zinc stearate with stearic acid. The influence of individual lubricants on the density shows only minor differences.
