Electro-Optic Crystal Homogeneity Study.

Abstract

The study consisted of the growth of single crystals of electro-optic potassium dideuterium phosphate KD2PO4 of size and optical quality suitable for use in displya device applications and an x-ray topographic study of sliced KD2PO4 crystals. The x-ray study was carried out to investigate the relationship between dislocations in the crystals and non-uniform image decay in the devices. Three crystals were grown and six devices were constructed using crystal wafers of about 1-1.5 sq in. cross section. (Author)
