Evaluation of Antileak Antifreezes.

Abstract

The object of the study was to determine the effectiveness of antileak antifreezes and determine if they warrant consideration for use in military vehicles. Existing laboratory test procedures for stop leak additives were screened and none were found to be applicable to the evaluation of recently marketed antileak antifreezes. The test procedure was modified to include test panels with aperatures for smaller particle sizes found in the antileak additives and refined to give more accurate results. Antileak antifreeze samples were secured from leading antifreeze manufacturers and subjected to the test procedure outlined herein. (Author)
