Rapid Tests for Pathogens in Water Supplies.
Abstract
Data are presented on the relationship between bacteria and homologous bacteriophage in various natural waters. The development of a field kit for rapid detection of S. typhimurium, Sh. flexneri and E. coli is described. A procedure is given for quantitative estimation of E. coli population based upon detection of E. coli phage. (Author)
