Computer Program for Calculating Multiple Scattering with Cylindrical Geometry,

Abstract

A computer program is presented for calculating the multiple scattering present in a diffraction experiment where the sample is a coherent scatterer. The program must be supplied, as input, an estimate of primary scattering from the given sample. A scheme for estimating the distribution of primary scattered neutrons from a liquid sample is shown. While the program was written with scattering of neutrons from liquids in mind, it applies equally well to most scattering experiments. A sample calculation shows that the involved procedure, as presented, is necessary if the sample is a coherent scatterer. (Author)
