Abstract
Research is reported on the following topics: multiple scattering of light from a laser beam in the ocean; Variation of the radiance in the ocean as a function of wavelength, variations in the turbidity of the ocean, and the zenith angle of the sun; Effect of various wave slope distributions on the radiance within the ocean and above the ocean; and Polarization of the radiation within the ocean.
