Elastic Parameters and Infrared Characteristics of Glasses under High Pressures and Temperatures.

Abstract

The main objectives of the investigation were: (1) to correlate the elastic parameters and infrared vibrational spectra with the compositional and structural variations in glass, (2) to study the role of SiO2 content in anomalous behavior of silica-rich glasses, (3) to investigate the elastic behavior as function of pressure and temperature and interpret this behavior in terms of any structural change, and (4) to investigate the time effect of pressure on the properties of glass.
