Adhesives for Space Systems,

Abstract

Adhesives used in space systems, both manned and unmanned, for a wide variety of important and critical applications are described. Reasons for using the adhesives are briefly reviewed. The requirements for space applications are presented. Detailed discussions are presented. Detailed discussions are presented of the use of adhesives in solar panels, second-surface mirrors, detector assemblies, radiators, multilayer circuit boards, antennas, tubular members, platforms, equipment-mounting panels, lunar and planetary landing components, reentry heat shields, launch vehicle components, and various Apollo spacecraft components.
