An Experimental Investigation of the Shear Creep of Fiber Reinforced Viscoelastic Materials,

Abstract

A mathematical model describing the behavior of the class of composite material consisting of a linear viscoelastic matrix reinforced by continuous elastic fibers was previously proposed by Nachlinger and Calvit. The accuracy of this model was not verified experimentally for complicated orientations of the fibers, however. This report presents results of an experimental investigation of this aspect of the theory by considering the problem of simple shear. (Author)
