The Influence of Thermal Treatment on the Increase of Wear Resistance of Plastic Elements in Textile Machines,

Abstract

All thermally treated runners have higher resistance to wear in comparison with the untreated ones from the same brand of material. The specified brands of materials can meet the requirements, if the processing is done precisely. Most of the runner wear is due to the friction of the thread. It is expedient to use a metal element in this part, so that the qualities of metals and plastics can be combined. (Investigations of this problem have already started). By using a metal insert in the part subjected to shear from the thread, the most important wear force will be the friction of the runner on the metal ring. These stresses can also be decreased.
