Light Evaluation of Inertial/DME/DME/ Map Display System.

Abstract

A Map Display driven by an INS/DME/DME navigation system was flown in a Convair 580 over the United States area for evaluation of map presentation, map film content, cockpit navigation use, ATC interface, and Area Nav in departure, enroute and approach operations. The map display was demonstrated and evaluated. Map film content included HI Altitude, Low Altitude, Area Charts, Jeppesen Charts, R Nav, JNC topography plus VOR and ILS approach plates.
