Bremsstrahlung Power Density: Semi-Classical Calculations,

Abstract

Quantum limitations on classical bremmstrahlung calculations are discussed. It is shown that the minimum impact parameter for low energy (< or about = 13 eV) electrons is about = ((e sup 4)(h/2 pi)/ (m sup 3)(v sup 5)) sup 1/3. Oppenheim's results, purporting to show that the power radiated in a plasma is greater than previously predicted, are explained and shown to be invalid. (Author)
