A Satellite Survey of Vector Electric Fields in the Ionosphere at Frequencies from 10 to 500 Hertz. 2. The Electric Component of ELF Hiss.
Abstract
The wave electric field experiment on the 400 kilometer polar orbiting OV1-17 satellite has observed two modes that are present in characteristic regions of every orbit in the measured frequency range of 12 to 500 hertz. One of these modes which is described in this, the second of a series of papers, is observed on closed magnetic field lines in the noon-midnight meridional plane. (Author)
