Toward an Improved Thermal Response Test.

Abstract

Heat transfer coefficients for cylinders of various geometries representing current thermometer bulb sizes were determined during MIL-STD-735A response time tests in different baths. Standard deviations were 9% and 10%. Standardizing bath geometry by the use of an immersion basket with fixed geometry and an integral stirrer was attempted without improvement for MIL-STD-735A response time tests.
