Method of Testing Fatigue Strength of Pneumatic Tire Carcasses,

Abstract

The method of testing the fatigue resistance of pneumatic tire carcasses is distinguished by the fact that, in order to decrease stand time for testing the pneumatic tires, assure a high degree of accuracy in measuring, facilitate coupling of pickups with gauges, simplify and facilitate construction of test equipment, reduce energy expenditures, decrease dimensions of test equipment, and economize on floor space, the tire carcass is subjected to cyclical deformation in a resonant oscillation regime at separate, fixed portions of the tire. Strain, temperature, and pressure gauges, connected to recording devices by a flexible coupling with a constant contact, are attached to the body of the tire. (Author)
