Summer Circulation and Weather over the Korat Plateau, Thailand,

Abstract

The recurring circulation patterns that are observed over Indochina in the lower and middle troposphere are related to cloudiness and rainfall on the Korat Plateau in Thailand during the summer. The average and strong monsoon patterns are most often associated with cloudy skies and increased rainfall whereas the weak monsoon patterns are most often associated with clear skies and decreased rainfall. The diurnal cycle in the kinematic and thermodynamic structure of the atmosphere over the plateau is studied. (Author)
