A New Method for Enumerating Molecular Configurations in Propellant Mixtures.

Abstract

A method has been developed for enumerating all the possible configurations in one-, two-, and three-dimensional solutions of two components. The enumerations have been completed for 24 two-dimensional and 3 three-dimensional solutions. A new and exact formula for all configurations in unidimensional solutions has been derived. These enumerations substituted in the partition functions are capable of yielding all the useful thermodynamic properties of mixtures consisting of simple molecules of elements and compounds utilized in chemical propulsion.
