Steady-State Analysis of Delays in Open and Closed Networks

Abstract

The steady-state analysis of open or closed networks consisting of n nodes interconnected by links over which mass flows is the subject of the report. Formulas are derived which yield the equilibrium mass balance at each node in terms of a set of specified parameters which characterize both nodes and links. The solution is then generalized to the case of a k-priority network of interconnected nodes, either open or closed. k-priority systems are solved recursively and formulas are given which determine delays at each node for a fixed priority mass element in terms of known parameters.
