New Possibilities for the Use of Semiconductor Diode Lasers,

Abstract

The possibility of whether a fast operating computer can be made with the use of diode lasers is examined. Starting with the physical bases of the operation of diode lasers, their use in telecommunications engineering is briefly outlined. Finally the use of the couples laser photodiode as fast operating logic circuit elements is discussed. (Author)
