Plasma Diagnostic Swift Laser Beams,

Abstract

The author gives a critical survey of the two characteristic groups of the plasma diagnostic methods with laser beams, that is to say, of the dispersion and interferometric measurements. He gives the basic connections, causing the dispersion phenomens, and also the calculation methods of the plasma characteristics on this basis. Starting from the basic connections of the measurements of the interferometric refractory index, carried out with neutral gases, he characterizes this method in the case of gases, in plasma state, ionized in different ways. He makes comparison between the spectral methods and the methods with laser beams and also characterizes the space and time resolution which can be gained by the latter method. (Author)
