Abstract

The author indicates limit transitions under which the law of plane cross-sections becomes asymptotically correct, enabling us to reduce the problem of three-dimensional stationary detached flow to a problem of two-dimensional nonstationary detached flows about flat bodies. Within the bounds of applicability of the law of plane cross-sections, the author determines general and special laws of similarity for a stationary three-dimensional flow. Specifically, for a rectangular plate of a very low aspect ratio with flow under the angle of attack, we obtain limiting law of similitude. (Author)
