Description of a Loran-C Propagation Anomaly and Associated Coordinate Conversion Problems.
Abstract
In order to achieve better accuracy in position determinations when Loran-C manpack systems are used in a mountainous region, the authors initiated an empirical program to describe the Loran-C environment in the vicinity of an isolated terrain feature. Emphasis was placed on variations in the lines of constant time difference over small areas, particularly on what impact these time difference variations have on time difference to Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate conversion.
