F5A Austere Field Test Landing Strip Evaluation,

Abstract

The report describes the test site and presents the soils data obtained in connection with a test program to evaluate the ability of F5A aircraft to operate from an austere airfield. The test site is compared in detail with a hasty airfield as defined in Department of the Army Technical Manual 5-251, Army Airfields and Heliports. (Authors)
