The Electronic Absorption Spectrum of 3,3-Chloromethyl-D3-Diazirine.

Abstract

The high resolution electronic absorption spectrum of 3,3-chloromethyl-d3-diazirines is presented. A vibrational analysis is given for the allowed singlet-singlet pi* from n system with its 0-0 band at 28 312/cm. Fundamental frequencies are compared with those of the normal molecule. The symmetrical N=N stretching vibration with a frequency of 1446/cm is the most prominent feature observed for the system. Evidence is also presented for another electronic system 140/cm to the red of the singlet-singlet system. (Author)
