Project Buggy. Preshot Geologic and Engineering Properties Investigations.

Abstract

Project Buggy was the first nuclear row cratering detonation executed as part of the Plowshare program for development of nuclear excavation techniques. Five nuclear explosives were detonated simultaneously on Chukas Mesa, Nevada test Site in a dry, Complex basalt formation. (Author)
