The Thermodynamics of the Beryllium/Beryllium Vapor System.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is the thermodynamic investigation of beryllium over a range of temperatures up to 6000K and pressures up to 1000 atmospheres. Two sets of equilibrium composition equations are used--one representing a pure gas phase, the other a heterogeneous system of gas and condensed (i.e., solid or liquid) beryllium. The results of the computational program are presented in both tabular and graphic form. The later comprised of a conventional Mollier diagram, a plot of volume versus temperature for beryllium, and a plot of vaporization temperature for beryllium, graphite, aluminun, and titanium at various pressures.
