Phonon Interactions in Solids (Theoretical).

Abstract

The report describes theoretical studies on high temperature thermal conductivity of non-metallic solids, on the effects of short-range order, dislocations and solute atmospheres around dislocations on the thermal conductivity of alloys, on the pressure dependence of the thermal conductivity and ultrasonic attenuation in dielectric solids, on the scattering of surface elastic waves by surface irregularities, with applications to lunar seismology, on the lifetime of high-frequency phonons, on the thermal conductivity of diamond, and on problems in the electronic structure of alloys.
