Neodymium Laser Glass Improvement Program

Abstract

Determination of the thermal coefficient of refractive index was begun on the second generation of a thermal glass compositions and results are encouraging. The procedure for measuring stress-optical coefficients was reviewed and a more refined technique for applying pressure to the sample is under investigation. Improvements in glass quality required for some of the property measurements have been obtained.
