A Method to Determine the Fissuring of Aluminum Welding Joints,

Abstract

The present stage of fissuring experiments on aluminum welding joints is described, and a method which utilizes the ultrasonic waves to control the determinations is suggested. This was accomplished with the help of an ultrasonic fault detector. The method furnishes supplementary data regarding the way the welding fails under conditions that could occur under exaggerated stresses during use.
