Position Measurements of Main-Line OH/IR Stars.

Abstract

Interferometer position measurements are reported for five main-line OH emission sources associated with infrared stars. The results of the measurements show that in all cases the 1667-MHz OH emission originates from the stellar position, with typical errors of plus or minus 5 to plus or minus 15 seconds of arc. In addition to the OH/IR star observations, the position of the main-line OH source OH2019+37 (ON-2) was measured. This source was found not to coincide with the red star BC Cyg as previous authors have suggested, but instead to be associated with an HII region. (Author)
