Output Recorder for Cosmic Ray Stations,

Abstract

The multichannel recording system described in this article is designed to store information having a statistical distribution law and to feed results to digital printout and perforation equipment. The system is one of a class of highly specialized computers distinguished by specific features in its technical design which ensure an advanced degree of operational reliability, multicycle structuring of the entire system, full-current data writing and readout in the storage, redundancy coding for constancy in the working modes of the majority of the system's components, and the possibility of on-line error detection, individual component standardization, etc. The use of preliminary computation, which normally takes place during the recording of cosmic ray variations, results in no information loss.
