Post-Buckling Behavior of Long Rectangular Plates,

Abstract

The purpose of this report is the determination of the postbuckling behavior of long rectangular plates subjected to edge compression as they are used in stiffened plate panels. The behavior investigated is the relationship between the average applied edge stress and the strain at the longitudinal edge. Of primary interest here are steel plates having a b/t ratio ranging from 60 to 100, where b is the plate width and t is the thickness.
