Reaction of Bromine Fluorosulfate with Gold and with Platinum.
Abstract
Bromine(I)fluorosulfate reacts slowly with gold at room tempreature. At 65C the reaction is complete within about ten hours. Removal of the excess BrSO3F leaves Au(SO3F)3. Platinum reacts slowly with BrSO3F at 95C. Removal of the excess BrSO3F leaves Pt(SO3F)4. Both Au(SO3F)3 and Pt(SO3F)4 form adducts with BrSO3F. (Author)
