Thermoluminescence of Yttrium Oxide Single Crystals.

Abstract

The report describes the thermoluminescence (TL) of six single crystals of yttrium oxide which are either rare earth doped or nominally pure. The fluorescence, coloration, and absorption behavior are also included. The glow peaks that are observed are sometimes common to several crystals and to other yttria samples studied here or elsewhere. The temperature dependence of the TL is analysed to provide the energy and frequency factors appropriate to the major electronic traps. (Author)
