Distorted-Wave Born-Approximation Analysis of the 89Y(3He, Alpha)88Y Reaction,

Abstract

Detailed descriptions are given of the scattering facilities, experimental procedures and methods of analysis with which various direct nuclear reactions have been studied at this laboratory. These studies are carried out to provide supplementary information regarding reaction mechanisms for use in the neutron cross section program. In the report emphasis has been placed on detailed checks of the functions and capabilities of the computer codes available for the analysis of direct reactions. Also, the reliability of the distorted-wave Born-approximation (DWBA) calculations and parameters entering into them have been thoroughly investigated for the case of a specific single-nucleon transfer reaction, the 89Y(3He, Alpha)88Y reaction.
