Experimental Studies of Magnetic Phase Transitions.

Abstract

During the period February 1, 1968 to December 31, 1971, the Principal Investigator and his research group carried out a number of detailed experimental studies of the behavior of magnetic spin systems at temperatures close to the magnetic ordering critical point. The principal experimental techniques employed were Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Neutron Scattering. The experiments of the former type were carried out at Brandeis University. Those of the latter type were carried out at the High Flux Beam Reactor at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. With reference to the NMR EXPERIMENTS4 SOME ADDITIONAL WORK WAS ALSO DONE AT THE National Magnet Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. (Author)
