Effect of Water Content on the Viscosity of a Lubricating Oil/Water Mixture,

Abstract

The article presents the results of experimental works which made it possible to clarify the connection between the content of water in a petroleum product and the viscosity of a mixture made of these two components. The experiments were conducted with mixtures of spindle oil, machine oil, avtol, plus water. The procedure and apparatus are described. The change in the viscosity coefficient of the mixture as a function of the water content in the oil is shown. (Author)
