Errors in Calculated Sample Moments Produced by Data Grouping.
Abstract
A mathematical analysis is given of the errors in calculated sample moments produced by grouping, under the assumption that the data is sufficiently dense to be described by a continuous distribution. The equations developed are applied to a wide variety of sample distribution shapes. (Author)
