Thermodynamic Properties of Liquid Solutions of the Copper-Magnesium System (Thermodinamicheskie Svoistva Zhidkikh Rastvorov Sistemy Medi-Magnii),

Abstract

The thermodynamic characteristics of Mg-Cu alloys were studied at temperatures of 600-900C in the concentration range from 0 to 100% magnesium by measuring the electromotive forces in an Mg(liquid)/NaCl, KCl, MgCl2/(mg, Cu)(liquid) galvanic cell. The thermodynamic properties found for the alloys are compared with other magnesium-containing systems used as hardeners when inoculating cast iron. (Author)
