The Solution of Optimal Control Problems by Function Minimisation Methods.
Abstract
The report describes how numerical methods for locating the constrained minimum of a function of several variables can be used to solve optimal control problems. FORTRAN programs have been written to carry out this type of calculation; some simple examples of the results obtained in this way are presented. (Author)
