Deformation Mechanisms in Moninally Brittle Material.

Abstract

The plastic deformation of covalently bonded solids at low temperatures (T approximately equal or < 0.4 T sub m) and high stresses was investigated using germanium as a test material. The interaction of the dislocations in germanium with the lattice and with a stress wave was studied using internal friction techniques. (Author)
