Estimate of the Accuracy of Gravity Measurements Made by L. V. Sorokin on the Black Sea in 1930-1935 (Otsenka Tochnosti Izmerenii sily Tyazhesti Vypolnennykh L. V. Sorokinym na Chernom More v 1930-1935 gg.),

Abstract

A comparison was made of the gravimetric observations on the Black Sea which were carried out by L. V. Sorokin (1930-1935) and the Institute of Geophysics of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1960). As a result of this comparison it was noted that Sorokin's measurements do not have noticeable systematic errors and are characterized by a random error of plus or minus 10 - 12 mgals. The performed analysis has confirmed the reliability of the general character of the gravity field in the water area of the Black Sea obtained by L. V. Sorokin. (Author)
