Investigations on the Dynamics of MHD Flows.

Abstract

The report contains theoretical investigations on plasmas in MHD flows and energy conversion systems. The spatial development of the boundary layer and the onset of separation in magnetohydrodynamic flows between diverging duct walls is investigated by similarity methods and within the frame of the boundary-layer approximation. An analytical solution is presented for the non-linear initial-boundary-value problem describing the diffusion and convection of plasmas in presence of ionization and recombination reactions. A plasma turbulence theory is formulated which is based exclusively on the first principles of classical statistical mechanics. (Author)
