Modifications to the Coherent Memory Filter for the 'Porcupine' C-Band Pulse Doppler Radar.

Abstract

The report describes the modifications performed to the Raytheon designed Coherent Memory Filter (CMF). The most significant modification was the addition of an operator selectable high prf mode of operation. The CMF was initially designed with a prf of 917 pps which, at C-band, resulted in an unambiguous velocity of 25 meters per second. The modification introduced an additional prf of 1760 pps and a corresponding 48 meters per second unambiguous velocity. Complete operating and alignment procedures are presented along with two appendices to aid in understanding the principles of operation of the CMF. (Author)
