A Model for ELF Noise

Abstract

A model for ELF atmospheric noise is proposed and studied in detail. The model is completely described by a few meaningful parameters which are easily correlated with measured data. Procedures for fitting the free parameters to observed noise data are provided. The model should prove useful in the analysis and design of communication systems operating in impulsive noise environments. (Author)
