Flight Investigation of the Optimum Energy Flight Path of an F-8D Airplane.

Abstract

A thirteen flight program was conducted to determine a minimum time optimum energy flight path schedule for a test F-8D airplane and to provide data for a comparison of the time required to achieve equivalent supersonic energy levels when utilizing this schedule and two other pre-determined flight path schedules.
