Linear Functions of Uniform Order Statistics.

Abstract

The paper gives the exact distribution of a linear function of uniform order statistics and examines the speed with which the distribution approaches normality. Some general results on linear functions are given, and approximate points, found by fitting a Pearson curve, are shown to be very accurate. Two different confidence intervals for the range are examined. (Author)
