Abstract
The report discusses: the current state of knowledge concerning the physical character of the distinct zones of disturbance surrounding a nuclear or high explosive crater, the scope and techniques of engineering properties investigations at the sites of cratering experiments, and methods for predicting the character of crater zones from the results of predetonation investigations. Information contained in this report is based on data obtained from craters produced in dry materials. (Author)
