Digital Address Thin Display Tube.

Abstract

The report describes the progress which occurred during the sixth quarter of a Research and Development contract to develop a 32x52 resolution-element, digital address, thin display tube for use in a man-pack radar application. During this quarter a full DIGISPLAY device was tested in a bell-jar system. Performance of this device was very good. The component parts for a flat, rectangular envelope were received, and an envelope was assembled, evacuated, and pressure-tested to a differential pressure of 45 psi without breakage. A modified, thinner, low-power flood-gun was tested. The required gun output of 6 ma was obtained with a filament power of 1.8 watts. (Author)
