Subsystem Analysis Using Technological Forecast for Long-Range R/D Planning,
Abstract
A long-range R and D planning procedure is being developed to translate generalized strategic mission requirements into more meaningful future subsystem R and D requirements. The report describes the subsystem analysis portion of the procedure, the purpose of which is to demonstrate how technological forecasting curves can be employed to perform subsystem optimization studies and determine R and D tasks. As part of the long-range planning procedure, it will demonstrate how optimal utilization of R and D funds is assured at the subsystem level.
